Bespoke 400kVA Generator Installation for Renewable Energy Company in Yorkshire
YorPower recently completed the supply and installation of a YWB400RSC 400kVA generator for a renewable energy company in Yorkshire, delivering a tailored standby power solution designed around the site’s operational requirements.
The Challenge
The customer required a larger capacity generator that could be integrated into the existing site infrastructure with minimal disruption, while also improving fuel efficiency and simplifying electrical terminations for installation and future maintenance.
With the existing generator in place, the project involved a full on-site swap-out, including decommissioning and disconnecting the old unit before installing the new generator into its final position.
The Solution
To meet the customer’s needs, YorPower supplied a YWB400RSC canopied diesel generator, built to deliver dependable standby performance for a demanding renewable energy application.
As part of the project specification, our team upgraded the generator’s integral bunded fuel tank to 1,400 litres, giving the customer extended runtime and greater operational resilience. We also installed a cable link box to allow for easier cable terminations with duel supplies via a pair of additional MCCBs, helping to streamline both installation and any future service work.
The package also included the supporting equipment needed for a complete power solution, with our Projects team overseeing the installation from start to finish.
Full Turnkey Project Delivery
This was more than a generator supply project. YorPower managed the complete removal and replacement process on site, including:
- Decommissioning and disconnecting the existing generator
- Positioning the new unit into its final location
- Carrying out the electrical installation works
- Integrating the new generator into the existing site setup
- Preparing the system for final commissioning
