YorPower was contacted to provide an emergency temporary UPS rental and hire solution for an energy plant in Cheshire. The customer required a reliable backup power system at short notice to support site operations, with the hire period starting as soon as possible.
To meet the requirement, YorPower supplied a temporary 60kVA Riello UPS system, on an initial two-month hire period, with the option to continue on a month-by-month basis thereafter.
The Requirement
The customer needed an emergency UPS solution that could be delivered, installed and commissioned quickly, ensuring critical equipment at the energy plant had dependable backup power in place.

Ahead of the site visit, our team provided the customer with a full method statement and risk assessment. We also communicated all pre-delivery and post-delivery arrangements clearly, helping to ensure the hire process was straightforward from the outset.
On arrival, YorPower UPS Engineer Jack reported to the site manager to confirm the works being carried out that day and to ensure all site procedures were followed.
Installation and Commissioning
Jack carried out the installation and commissioning of the temporary 60kVA Riello UPS system, complete with a battery cabinet housing 40 x 12V 90Ah batteries.
The UPS and battery system were fully installed, tested and commissioned on the day. Following completion, the unit was left running online and in normal operation.
Following the works, YorPower provided an Installation and Commissioning Certificate, which was signed by the customer.
