Multi-Site Generator Service & Maintenance for a National IT Service Provider

Overview

YorPower provides a comprehensive generator servicing and maintenance solution for a national IT Service Provider, supporting eight critical sites located across the North and South of the UK. These sites form part of a wider IT and communications infrastructure where uninterrupted power availability is essential to maintaining service continuity.

The contract covers a fleet of standby generators predominantly in the 500 kVA generator range. The majority of units are powered by Perkins engines, with FG Wilson generator sets representing the most prominent brand across the estate.

YorPower has supported this contract since prior to 2020, having continued the service following a transition from the provider’s predecessor organisation.

Our Role

Under this long-term service and maintenance agreement, YorPower delivers a full lifecycle support solution, including:

Planned Preventative Maintenance

Scheduled servicing across all eight sites to ensure generator reliability, regulatory compliance, and readiness for emergency operation.

Nationwide Multi-Site Support

Management of geographically dispersed assets, coordinating engineering resources and parts supply to maintain consistent standards across the entire estate.

System Upgrades & Control Modernisation

YorPower has completed multiple upgrade projects as part of the contract, including:

• Upgrading legacy generator control systems to modern COMAP controllers
• Improving monitoring, diagnostics, and operational resilience
• Enhancing compatibility with existing site infrastructure

Emergency Call-Outs & Critical Parts Sourcing

The contract includes full emergency support. YorPower has responded to urgent call-outs when generators have been offline, providing:
