Reliable Backup Power for a Major Yorkshire Charity
Project Overview
We supplied, installed and commissioned a new standby power solution for a major Yorkshire charity at its new headquarters.
The project required a reliable, high-capacity generating set capable of supporting the charity’s operations during a mains power failure, while meeting the site’s requirements for noise reduction, extended runtime and long-term reliability.
Our Solution
We specified a canopied YorPower YWB320RSC diesel generator set, delivering 321kVA / 257kW prime power. The three-phase system was supplied with an advanced DSE7320 control panel and a Stamford alternator.
The generator was housed within an upgraded acoustic canopy, designed to achieve a noise level of 80dBA at one metre. A 1,900-litre extended fuel tank was also incorporated, providing approximately 26 hours of runtime at full load.
Additional features included:
- Engine water heater and battery charger
- Anti-condensation heater
- Fuel level sender within the base tank
- Upgraded four-pole circuit breaker
- Fusible-link fire safety valve
Project Delivery
A dedicated project manager oversaw the project from order through to completion, coordinating the equipment supply, delivery, installation and commissioning.
The generating set was delivered to site using a specialist Hiab vehicle, positioned and installed before undergoing comprehensive testing and commissioning.
The Outcome
The generator is now fully commissioned and ready to provide dependable backup power for the charity’s new headquarters, helping protect its facilities and essential services in the event of a power outage.
Our involvement will continue beyond installation, with ongoing generator servicing and maintenance to help ensure the system remains reliable, efficient and ready when required.
