Boo Hoo Project Update

February 11, 2018

In early 2017 multinational fashion retailer, BooHoo, commenced build on their new, state of the art distribution centre in Preston, Lancashire. Through a competitive tender process the contractor responsible for the mechanical and electrical part of the project appointed YorPower to supply and install a backup power system.

The YorPower projects team, headed by Jim Riley, are now well into the manufacture, assembly and installation of a 2,500kVA, Cummins powered, genset designed specifically to support the distribution centre in the event of a power outage.

The generator, housed in a bespoke container, designed by YorPower will be positioned on site and its air inlet, exhaust and fuel systems have been connected. Initial preliminary FAT testing is proceeding according to plan and handover of the completed project is expected in March.

Jim Riley stated, “This has been an exciting project for us and clearly demonstrates our capability in the large projects sector, from design concept through to installation, site works, testing and commissioning and aftercare.”
