Temporary UPS Hire Secures Backup Power for Football Ground
Ahead of the first home game of the season, a football team needed reliable backup power for its public address and voice alarm (PA/VA) system.
A permanent UPS installation was planned, but the new units were not expected to arrive until the end of September. Without an interim solution, the PA/VA system could not be completed and signed off in time for the start of the new season.
YorPower were therefore approached to provide two temporary UPS units capable of supporting the system until the permanent equipment was ready.
The solution
YorPower supplied a tailored UPS hire package designed to meet the site’s immediate power-protection requirements.
Our engineer attended the stadium to install and commission:
- One 10kVA single-phase UPS with a 90Ah battery extension pack
- One 15kVA single-phase UPS with 120 internal batteries
Once installed, both units were commissioned to confirm that they were operating correctly and ready to provide backup power to the PA/VA system.
The outcome
The temporary installation gave the stadium a dependable source of backup power ahead of its first home fixture. It also allowed work on the PA/VA system to progress towards sign-off without having to wait for the permanent UPS units to arrive.
By supplying, installing and commissioning the hire equipment, YorPower provided a complete interim solution that bridged the gap between the stadium’s immediate operational needs and the completion of its permanent installation.
This project demonstrates how temporary UPS hire can help venues maintain critical systems, meet tight deadlines and remain operational when permanent equipment is delayed.
